What all in compensation should I expect for as an investment associate at a MM/UMM firm? They have indicated $165 base but was mostly wondering about the bonus as I would be working about 60 hours a week.

Currently working at T2 consulting firm in Aus and looking to break into the industry in the US (pref NYC/SF/Chicago/Boston). Have citizenship but am concerned my credentials / degree (high GPA, top Aus uni but nothing like top US) won’t carry enough weight to get me into a similar role. Anyone have advice / tips / etc?

After much hard work, I recently interviewed & was offered a VERY AMBITIOUS role however the salary offered to me was $13K LESS than the start of the range for that position! (It was posted on job description) Not only that, they lowered the band for that role. What does this mean? Also, any tips for negotiating salary?
I’m afraid my past decision to accept a low ball offer for the opportunity may be limiting me now for a more reasonable salary offer. Thoughts??

For those of you who left big 4 for industry - I’m seeing a lot of people saying they got 30% + raises when leaving. How did you find these jobs willing to pay that much more? Looking to leave at the M1 level and having trouble finding anything with much more than a 10-15% increase in base comp. from my current salary. Would it be dumb to leave for that low of a percentage increase? Some are offering equity in addition to the base comp. but hard to put a specific value to that now.

Does anyone else find doctors are a scam? I have a medical issue that really doctors can only tell what’s wrong through a blood test. However the doctor keeps making me come in every 3 months when I feel fine on the medication I’m on and they won’t fill my prescription without an appointment.
