Employee law question:

In the state of CA for a full time non-exempt role. If fired without warning (no previous warnings/feedback) ⚠️ for "performance" (although performance was arguably good) or actually "team fit" (politics), do you have any case or legal standing?

I'm currently in operations in a partner facing role, working closely with them to streamline their business processes. I'm considering exploring new opportunities as a Customer Success Manager. What skill sets do you need to be successful in the role?

Is anyone out there fairly happy with their role/firm? I’m considering moving to tax from audit because I’m much more interested in tax and feel it provides more value but it sounds like the hours can be even worse so I’m hesitant.

Is the Workday Payroll Certification really worth it?

Especially considering you can make a similar amount of money doing the other core HCM modules without having to learn about the Practitioner side of things in Payroll.

Also, if you want to exit to an internal role, 9/10 job openings that I see do not even list payroll as a requirement but you'll always see the core modules+ Absence & TT.

Hey! I just got an offer for a L6 position at Amazon but compensation is below my current salary. Any advice on how to negotiate? Base salary is ok but the gaps are 1. The variable and 2. The sign in bonus is only a 1/3 of my non vested stock. Thanks!!!

I took the exit opp with Amazon from KPMG. It may not be the exit I wanted but atleast it’s the exit I needed.
Tc : 130 -> 230 k , yoe: 12 (relevant exp: 7 ), level manager to L5. I felt suffocated at KPMG with 3 of the leaders who supported me leaving in the last 10 months.

Superrr nervous to tell my boss about my pregnancy. She’s a director. Married, no kids. In her 40s. I’ve always gotten the vibe she doesn’t like me very much… Q2 performance discussion went well and she gave me a sizable LTI recently but there is still something off… I’ve reported to her for ~6 months.
