Folks whose h1 was picked in lottery, hav ur lawyers submitted documents to uscis. What documents they need frm client and frm u. What is last date to submit. Mine got picked but no word from lawyers
Any tips on starting a side project to boost my chance of getting hired as a PM without technical experience?
The daily internal struggle of trying to decide if the project is legitimately poorly designed and managed, or if I'm just a dummy for not "getting it." 🤔
As a new associate finishing up what will likely be my largest/only provision client going forward, is it appropriate/professional to ask the client employee that I worked with the most for feedback?
Scammed my client today: their small soup costs $1.95, but the large soup which is only 50% bigger costs $4.50. Bought TWO smalls which = more than one large for LESS money
Gonna start new project after 5 months on the bench. It's a miracle they haven't fired me 🙌
I know my client needs an Accounting Manager. I know this because they’re startup med device company that has their books in complete shambles. The current accounting team isn’t very strong. How do I let the client know that I would be interested in joining them? They’re not actively recruiting for any position but I know they’d benefit from it. Serious responses only :)
Considering leaving EY for a 300 FTE consulting firm, mainly govt sector, for a strategic talent role (non-client facing). Current Manager in a long-term product management role. Offer is 30% increase, director title, and fully remote. Concerned about jumping to a company I had never heard of prior to LinkedIn connection. Thoughts? 30% too low for this type of jump?
Transitioning from full time agency life to be a freelancer and/or part timer. How have folks negotiated their rate, hourly vs day? For reference, I’m in the Account/Project Management space and have 8+ years of experience. And I’d ideally like the rate to result in more $$ than what I was making when salaried. Thanks!
Joined consulting to get varied experience, but I keep getting extended at client but on different projects. Client is great and projects are cool, but I’d never wanna live on this coast—
Hi Deloitte TS/S cleared folks! Waiting on the bench for client security processes, read ins, indoc/in-processing negatively impacts utilization. How do we mitigate this @ promotion time?
A Partner reached out to me and mentioned I was staffed on a project. Two days and Career team still doesn’t reach out to me confirming my project. I’m busting my ass, before the Partner tells me that I would not be billable till we get the internal approval and I should charge my timesheet to offline work. This is my first job. Should this have happened? Can I do anything now? What can I do to manage this going forward?
I absolutely do not care - is that just sometimes based on the project you are on? Ever cared more on certain projects vs others?
How much client time do you actually charge/work during the summer? If it's not 8hours a day, what type of code do you charge and where do you work?
TFW the sign-in sheet at your client has consultants on it from more firms than you can count, even IBM is here. We should have a consultants party, looks like we're already running the place!
Any advice on how to shift from agency to client side? Any resume pointers would be much appreciated.
Pro tip: Never say “Pardon my french” before saying anything crass, if the client is French.
Worked hard, won business and asked for a raise - got 10%. Now closer to median salary for my YOE. But it’s not in effect until my first year anniversary which is 2-3 months away. Should I accept the raise or negotiate?
I've been out of accounting for about 2 years because I decided to move to another country for life experiences. I will be moving back mid 2022 with my fiance and will go back to Audit most likely. My firm said they would gladly take me back when I left. If i was making 65k as a senior 2 years ago is it reasonable to ask for 72k and a 10k signing bonus even with a 2 year break? Would it be more reasonable if I went to a different firm instead? How much do you think is reasonable?
I have an offer for a finance role from one of the faang companies out of Seattle. Total comp is little over $400k. Is this a respectable offer? I’m currently based out of a tier-3 city and working for one of the big4s.
Onsite interview: tech round, Case round & managing partner core consulting round. Which one has most influencing decision making effect?
Is it worth it to get an executive mba if I’m not working in the field I want while I’m getting it?
I woke up at 3 AM with Sunday scaries despite being off this week. Decided to look back at pictures/quotes I’ve taken screenshots of over the years and have determined I’ve been stagnant in life for a solid 3-4 years. Sure I passed the CPA exam, made senior, then manager, but my satisfaction with my job and life has remained low for that duration. Every year around now I start looking to leave but never do because industry seems boring. Any advice? 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I'm getting my MBA from the University of Arizona, how prestigious is the AACSB accreditation? And do MBB or Big 4 Consultant firms care about it?
MBB Manager total comp breakdown?
Do I still get Marriott points / nights when booking through firms travel agency (adelman)?
Need 3,000 PQPs by Nov 30 to retain United 1K status as part of Fly to the Finish offer. What’s easiest way to get these last PQPs?? Just blow out on a first class flight?
Currently a post-MBA returning consultant at MBB. What firms should I target with significant Private Equity Ops groups or value teams? Have to leave after 2 years in consulting because I was sponsored but want to make sure that I understand the point at which I should be reaching out, etc.
Thoughts on Grey NY health teams (I know everyone has mixed feelings on pharma in general) specifically the account departments?
Going back to work next week after 4 months of maternity leave and I’m super nervous about it 😔. I’m sure it’ll be fine but I wish that I could stay home a bit longer 😔
I’m terrified of pregnancy but not of motherhood (except for the noise, kids are so loud). Pregnancy/breastfeeding looks horrible to me, but I’d feel bad about missing out on kids because I was scared of something that wasn’t so bad. It doesn’t help that I don’t know a single pregnant person—in my 30s and none of my friends have children! Any moms out there who can speak about what it’s actually like?
Why don’t they care about natural immunity from previous infection? Several studies and doctors agree that natural immunity is just as good if not better than vaccines.
Thoughts on switching to a mid-tier or local firm? Currently, work for a big 4 and feel I’m getting screwed over on manager promotion.
How do I dress like a McKinsey while on a Deloitte salary? Any cheap places to get a bunch of blazers? Willing to import.
