Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

The timing isn’t favorable to you. You’d be competing with thousands of individuals who were laid off very recently And you’d be competing with people who have more tech expertise than you.
Since you have some knowledge, try to bridge the skills gap anyway you can. Or you can apply for an F1 visa to study in the US and convert the F1 to OPT after graduation so you can stay and work.

Look into MBA programs and choose a tech concentration. Pick a school and contact their international students office. MBA would be a great program because schools provide a pipeline for placing students with employers. A great majority of MBA graduates go into consulting with the big names: McKinsey, BCG, Bain, etc. You’d need an F1 first then depending on the pipeline you can go directly to H1B from these companies or do OPT in between. Either way, you have a legal path to having employment in the US.
Dealing with US work-based visas is REALLY hard. Especially in the current market and political situation. There are so many hurdles to jump over and rules have gotten tighter. I seriously recommend using other ways. Trust me, been there, done that.
Im trying to get into a job for 2-4 years as a short term goal. My long term goal is to keep building my startup
