I got a verbal offer from ACN two weeks ago, and the recruiter told me I could expect a written offer in a few days. I haven’t receive it by now…followed up with the recruiter today, and she told me hopefully I will get it over the weekend or by Monday. Is this normal? Should I be worried? The recruiter told me they really wanted me and the team has a lot of projects lining up and I really like the team..Accenture
Does anyone have experience with Ben Glass’s “Great Legal Marketing” programs? https://greatlegalmarketing.com
I ordered a free “starter kit” from his company and received a decent-sized box with some books and audio CD’s. Haven’t listened to the CD’s yet, but the books aren’t bad, with plenty of practical advice.
Now he’s running a promotion where you can get two months of his basic-level course for just $19.95 to cover the cost of shipping. It seems that Ben is one of the better-regarded legal marketing “gurus” out there.

It prepared me for my role. I left audit after 7 years for a director role.
Hi! I’m a controller. I had 3 years in audit, 2 years in financial due diligence. And I’ve been in industry for 3 years. I left right before promotion to manager because I had the right opportunity. I personally think the best time to leave is anytime from 2nd year senior to 1st year manager. There’s a point where if you stay too long in public accounting that you miss out on valuable experience in industry. Almost all executive roles in industry are looking for a mix of public & private - most wouldn’t take someone who has only ever worked in public accounting
And to answer your question, I definitely think 3 years in audit prepared me for the accounting and provided a solid foundation. But my experience in FDD really gave me a leg up when it came to being part of budgeting and forecasting process and analyzing financial information

Yes audit is a great foundation. If you can tolerate it, I’d stick around till late senior/new manager and then pivot to advisory
