You can def come back to consulting! As long as your story is compelling. If you need a referral for EY, let me know, happy to give!

There was a post about someone who was at company 2 months then another 3 months and had another opportunity come up - right now, every firm needs more people. It'll be fine to start interviewing now if it's a bad fit.

I think you can just say your current job wasn't the right and elaborate on the details if they press you. Sorry to hear that your current job isn't working out. Happy to refer you to Slalom though!

I once joined a firm and quit 3 weeks later to go to the other offer I declined. Thought the 2 were basically the same but the one I initially accepted came with $15k more sign on and $10k higher salary. Disaster struck, asked the other firm if the offer was still good and they said yes, we agreed and I resigned. Doesnt go on my resume, just say I took time between jobs.

Come back. 🤗

i feel like staying in consulting isn’t a matter of how efficient/hardworking you are. it’s about your personality’s ability to let the “bad” flow over your shoulders more easily than others who might harbor and resent the lifestyle. That said, consulting is so not for me. The health issues Ive gotten from the intensity of this job is literally astounding. Which title would you use on your CV to better position yourself for client side comms roles? I’m at EY as a manager (external ranking)/ assistant director (internal ranking) with 11 years of total experience handling brand, PR, media & content. I’m interested in finding a new role such as a comms manager or senior comms manager at a company that pays better, but don’t necessarily want the responsibility of a director or head comms yet. How can I set the stage this year to negotiate a lower billable hours expectation instead of a raise? As a woman I'm hesitant to be open about my reason: I want more time at home with my kids. I lateraled to this firm a year ago for WLB and they are indeed flexible on WFH which helps. Salary is a bit below average for mid-size firms like mine in my area, and I didn't get a raise or bonus this year because I didn't hit the billable target (1900). Ideally I'd keep my salary but go to 1600 hours.

As per the trend in Current "Great Resignation" even big MNCs are facing offer rejections and it is very hard to onboard IT employees because everyone has multiple offers, Only those companies have some advantage who supported employees well in Covid period. Employees were in fear of job lost, and maximum IT organization's took benefit of this fear, now they are only facing maximum offer rejections.
