Don't worry. Real negotiation happens in last month. When Company needs urgent resource to join in 15 days or 1 month, they will give you 50-80% hike. Then again you crack the interview of another company which is looking for urgent resource and show the offer letter of previous company. That's how you get more than 100% hike. Last 30 days are the most important. 1st offer is usually average. But that one is to only serve notice period. Real game starts in a last month.
If companies are not giving good hike, then crack the interviews of some small companies who are ready to pay more. Just for sake of offer letter. Once you have offer letter with good number, then show it to those companies and they will give you good hike.
Sadly in IT it's not about skills. HR department doesn't care about your skills. They work through a predefined algorithm. If you give them number as 10L, they will approve 12. If you give them number of 18L, they will approve 20L until the number is in their budget for your Band level. Even if their budget for your Band is 20L and if you show them offer of 10L, they will only approve 12L. So be proactive. Give interviews to some random companies which you know you will not going to join , but just for sake of offer letter with good number.
Also December quarter is the worst time to do job switch as most companies don't have outlook for next year. March and June quarter is the best time for job switch as most companies will have their budget approved for new projects.
I think in your last job switch you must have missed opportunities in last month of notice period where actual negotiation happens.
Yes. Take this offer and start your notice period. Then search for any company who is ready to pay more. Once you have one offer with good number, go back to Accenture and they will give you 100% hike. This usually happens in last month of notice period, so be very proactive in that month.
Also If any good company is not read to give good hike with 3 month notice period, then don't give interview now as you will loose your chance. Interview with them in only last month of notice period and they will usually agree to hike. If you give them interview now with 3 month notice period, then they will only increase 50k on your previous offer and you can't give interview again in last month when they will be ready to pay.
In worst case, you can always take back your resignation and you existing employer can match 20%-30% hike and you just be retained and do job switch when market is in good condition.
You should first understand the Game of HR department and then play through it to get what you want. It's not about skills or budget. It's about timing.
plz mention your tech stack. coz its depend on your tech stack also. and its demand and supply game. hr will always say 30% because its there job to hire resources at low cost. you really need be very good at offer negotiation and its depend on multiple factors. i got 350%+ hike and before that 200%+ hike so set your standard high. dont fall into Hr's trap of hike. and create multiple income source this VVIMP.
Wow kudos to your negotiation skills👍🏼. What's your tech stack btw?
How do i deal with this i want to be paid not based on my cctc but my skill. I don't even know what to say after the call with HR she's like Accenture is giving only 30% for everyone and this is the maximum budget. I said I need time till monday. How do i proceed please advise
Pro
Same with me leaving ibm in less than a year and same tcs has given me only 10% of hike same reason they have given me
But try giving them counter offer
Even i am also getting less nly 9 yrs and only 25
Same happened with me. Accenture are low balling. If we switch within year, thy are offering 20 to 30% max hike.
I didn't accepted the offer
The same thing happened with me as well. I was having 10L at IBM and then Accenture said that they can give 13.5 fixed max. I accepted the offer and served the notice period. Last week I received an offer from a product based company and they are offering 24. So go ahead and accept the offer. Surely in 90 days you can get a much higher offer and try for product based firms.
YOE : 5
Tech stack : .NET + Azure
I will suggest not to take it, wait for couple of months and ask for min 17~18 LPA in other first interview, (highly depends on tech stack and interview given).
