I was 2 weeks over the 60 day mark. This was in 2002. I got my GC in 2012. Don’t worry too much about it. Focus on preparing for interviews. Your target should be to send at least 20-50 resumes out. At least 5-10 interviews a week.

OP, I interviewed with Tech companies but not just big tech. A lot of startups: Faire, Deliverr, Doordash, Amount, YipitData, etc

You have 60 days from the last paycheck to apply for H1B transfer (just the filing) From my experience. I was laid off in the summer

Does that mean if my 60 days end and a company has applied before 60 days, I can be legally present in US till it is approved?

Your 60 day starts right after your last working day (not the last paycheck date). Your prospective employer must need to file a petition for H1B transfer before the last day of 60 days and you don’t have to be receipted by your last day. As long as they file a petition for change of employer before 60-day grace period, you will be all fine.

A1, it took over a month but my law firm was slow af

OP, You need to find a job, file for transfer, get approved and start working within the 60 days grace period. This was confirmed by an immigration attorney.

Thinking outside the box: need H1B renewal stamping, eligible for Dropbox in my home country. However, going there is still risky in case of a 221g and consulates closed. Can I send my passport to my home country through a friend for Dropbox stamping? Once the stamping is done, I can travel to home country (after they courier my passport back) Is this possible or am I going crazy?

Has anyone had the conversation on how we get Ss and Ts ready for returning in the fall? I’m not talking about mask usage, hand washing times, physical distancing in classrooms, etc. I don’t think we can expect Ts and Ss to come back and just hop right into academics. Need sometime to process together, get some SEL, be face to face social again, etc. Just wondering if districts out there have gotten a head start on this task.
