Hi, happy new year! I had some money saved up for down payment (~$75K) on house but I need to put that on hold. What’s the best way to invest this in the meanwhile? I am wondering about investing it all in one go or spreading it out over a few months. Also, I am mainly looking at stocks and funds but other ideas also welcome. Thanks!

Time horizon for when you think you’ll need the funds again?

like

Depends on how long the hold is

like

I think it’ll be a couple of years at least, maybe longer. Thank you!

That is too broad. How long is a couple years? If it's like 2-3 years I'd keep it safe. Put 10k into ibonds and the rest in a HYSA. If it's more than that, you can begin to think about putting a portion into index funds. I would lump sum immediately but you can DCA if that makes you more comfortable.

Put it on the USDC stablecoin on Voyager and earn 9% interest on the amount. Bypasses the volatility of stocks while still earning you rewards.

I am guessing no one has cas holdings there, no one is FDIC insured

My BTC had grown fairly significantly where it was more than 50% of my taxable investments and savings. I had stop losses triggered the other night at 52K. This was an opportunity to take back my capital, and rebuy from a smaller portion of earnings at 47K. Now that my portfolio is back in balance, I don’t fret over the volatility - but man do I hate seeing that weak ass equity allocation move by +/- 2%.

Career advice needed: I'm at $140K per year and have 40% equity in a company. I will only get the remaining 60% equity if our company is bought or goes public. But I can walk away now and keep my 40% equity.
I got approached by a competitor who will pay me $186K per year (so more than a 30% increase) and will also offer me equity that won't fully vest for 4 years (so essentially 25% year 1, 25% year 2, etc.). I won't get any actual money from this equity unless they are bought/go public.
