This is a bit of an aside, but over the last year or two, I've noticed "career coaching" explode as a service and a field. But, like what is it? How is it different from therapy, and how should it be utilized? I'm intrigued, but don't know much about it.
Promoted to SSE with 25% hike and 9% VP. I received ACE award in Q3 with recognization still I feel VP is very less. Utilization report I have maintained 100% . Is it possible to revisit the component
What are your thoughts on the high utilization rate goals for SC/C/As? Seems like a terrible system to make junior practitioners accountable for what they have no control over
Are you seeing any change in behavior based on the increased scrutiny on utilization and EM? I feel like there’s less teaming than a few years ago. Is that acknowledged as an unintended consequence?
What are ways to deal with high latency mricroservice in a given region. Given that it's Cpu utilization is not exhausted.. So no vertical scaling ???
Promoted to SSE with 25% hike and VP as 9% . I had received ACE award in Q3 . I have also maintained utilization report 100% still I got less VP. Can I ask manager to revisit the component
Huge mistake? career feedback requested. I am 43. No mentorship/direction in high school and college (Econ degree) ended up writing commercial RE appraisals, it’s a bit of a sweatshop industry imo. Now I am a reviewer at a bank. Shy of $90k & 40 hours with little stress. I have my MAI, life is good. I loved acct. and finance (one grad-level finance class as an undergrad, I liked it.) in college. Feeling under-utilized now. Is there a space where I can add more value/earn more. Honesty only pls
Post-prod consultants - What does your work load look like in terms of: 1) forecast targets, 2) utilization targets, 3) number of clients you support? Do you feel balanced/supported?
Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.
What is your utilization target? Mine is 80% which gives me no time to develop innovative skills for our practice.
Staffed most of the year but low utilization (<40%) due to partners asking team not to bill. I have read other posts that say to ask for non-charge code when this happens. If projects are (continued)
I have about 3.5 years of software implementation consulting experience, I’m getting tired of the 9 - whenever the work is done hours and the constant pressure of utilization. I have no idea where to start, has anyone exited from implementation consulting? Any suggestions?
Is it true that Accenture doesn’t track utilization and doesn’t have any firm initiatives? Are B4 the only firms that ask you to do PRDs, firm initiatives and track utilization?
I was an extremely high performer at my last firm, when I joined my new firm I was plenty excited and wanted to overachieve so I set time up with my counselor and said I wanted to go for early promotion. Months later, I realized now I just want to coast and put my effort towards other things but my counselor is still recommending me do this and that, staying ontop of my utilization to make sure it exceeds standards, etc.. how do I tell them idgaf anymore lol
Would love some feedback this afternoon on creative ways to reach more applicants. I’m a recruiter for a small NGO and we’re looking to hire more recent graduates. Handshake, Indeed and LinkedIn have been our friends and I’ve also utilized various forums to attract applicants but want to reach out for some feedback from other recruiters. Thanks for the support in advance 😊
How much do BDO Managers in Forensics make?
The jeans you wear everyday slipping down constantly when they used to fit skintight is one of the most satisfying problems to have.
I was paid a signing bonus with a stipulation that it be paid back if I resign. Now they are saying they want to mutually separate and agreed to let me keep the bonus, but I have no legal recourse if I mutually separate. Wouldn't it just be better to get fired? Let's just say I have a decent legal case for disability discrimination.
Can anyone tell me more about the McKinsey academy and what they do / what it’s like to work there. Thanks !
(✔️) closed Wells Fargo checking and savings Since they can't seem to find "talent" in my community. Closed the account at a branch so it will hit their numbers. They could care less over the phone. Any recommendations for a checking/savings? DC area. I'm not a veteran.
I’m stopping by here for motivation I guess?! current undergrad student here trying to make it out to PT or something in the medical field with a salary of at least 80k type of thing. My science GPA is 3.4 and my overall GPA is currently 2.7 cause I transferred schools. I still have one more semester to go besides this one. You guys think I’ll still be able to make it into the medical field with my gpa? Considering my low overall gpa but high in science. Not looking to be a medical assistant/RN
Hello fishes, Hope everyone doing well. I have an offer from Infosys, CTS and LTI Infosys -18 CTS-21 LTI-22 Infosys joining date is 20May. Is there any chance that Infosys can match the LTI offer. Also if there is any possibility from when should I try discussing this with HR.
Hi fishes , Off topic . I got a very good job in Bangalore with great package and 3x of my husband salary . I looked for the job intentionally coz I was uncomfortable with my in laws as they are a little old fashioned and I belong from a upper middle class and he from lower middle class , I am unable to adjust . he is not ready to move out of his parents house or look for a job in Bangalore in long term. My parents are also not supporting me . Am I wrong if I am being selfish ?

I've never felt more depressed than this morning at the airport. I think it's time to throw in the towel.
Are "patent agents" generally paid less than associates? Or is it more or less the same thing as being an associate, substantively? Any insight very much appreciated!
Folks I was advised to follow Trackitt to try and gauge PERM processing times. I've been on trackitt and is the process to review forum entries and read those pertinent to my situation/PD? Just confirming I'm approaching this correctly since I'm new to Trackitt. Open to tips, tricks, suggestions. Thank you!

Guys I have 1.5 years of experience in TCS. I've worked in python, Machine Learning and worked in backend and frontend and research and I have amazing mentors. I can't decide if I should continue with TCS or Switch or go for Masters and if I go for Masters should I go on Sabbatical or should I leave TCS. Any suggestions? Also any tips on resume building are welcome.
