I work for a small healthcare consulting firm and want to break into big 4 or tier 2 companies. I’m currently not getting much experience and wonder if these certifications would be valuable when applying. Thanks in advance!

Nothing besides experience are going to help. Sure get certified but what matters ultimately is experience, without that, the piece of paper saying you’re certified isn’t relevant

I am joining EY at rank 42 . What relocation reimbursement cap can I expect as nothing is explicitly mentioned in the offer letter. Also, my previous firm is making me pay back the retention bonus and also recovering the certification cost since I am leaving with an year of certifications. Will any of this amount be covered under notice pay reimbursement ?

Trying to determine if I’m off-base: 9ish yrs of exp (7 + 2 post MBA). Focus in healthcare strat and org change/transformation — when folks call I’ve been asking for $175K base but the roles have topped out at $150K base. These are director level roles in industry and health tech. Is $175K too high? I’m currently at a T2 strat firm…

401k advice requested - 25 years old, live in nyc, make 125k. I’ve always maxed my 401k to 19500 with a split of regular and roth. Always do the 6k of Roth IRA too. New firm has no matching policy. I understand the benefits of tax so maxing it is beneficial, however, I’m almost breaking even each month. Is it smart to slow the contributions, keep investing myself so I will have money for a down payment down the road? Don’t want to pull on my 401k if not needed

Best tech strat/planning departments? (or creative agency unicorns that have solid pay and balance?) I can’t take it anymore — horribly underpaid and overworked, sick of the holding company bullshit, mental health is suffering. Should I open an IRA Roth account? Need suggestion on better allocation. Im mid 20s, making 80K pre-tax. My allocation is as followed: 1) 401k account has only $21K. 5% in Roth and 3% in pre-tax, no IRA account yet. My company matches 100% up til 3%, and 50% til 5%. 2) 85K in stocks, including both base and profits 3) 50K in real estate 4) 25K emergency funds. No debt. Should I open an IRA roth account and max it out? Not sure what my goal is. Im 40% high risk high reward, 60% stability.

I know this topic does not get talked about much but will eventually impact almost all of us so here goes. I am thinking of retiring (early) and would love recommendations for countries that I can retire to that. Primary factors would be cost if living, safety, warm climate, good health care system, (preferably) close to the US - not a requirement, stable government and laws, diversity in landscape (beach, rivers, mountains). Definitely not super rich so thinking of 5k a month in expenses.

Does anyone has the newest insight of how long the virus can last on different surfaces? I used this which is one of the only few that tells you about different surfaces. But this implies that for example your grocery bags and food packaging is not “100% safe or coronavirus free until after 3 days, and touching those surfaces could cross contaminate other things in your house, ultimately making people more likely to get the virus into their bodies. What’s your take on this?

Last year, My girlfriend was making 80k while I was making 200k so I took her out to dinners and took care of the groceries etc. Basically made sure it’s an equitable relationship. She got a new job this year and is now making 210k (more than me) but still expects me to pay for all the dinners and groceries. I’ve already talked to her about this but just resulted in argument. Is there any coming back from this situation to make this equitable relationship or is break up the only option here?
