Hi, How many of you were successful using "taking cara baby" (especially for newborn's sleep)? You can just say "me" or "not me" if you are busy. I am deciding if I should buy the course. Things are getting better on week 4, but it's not good and the hours between 6 and 10 pm are awful.

So helpful. It’s more than what you can find for free on the internet, in my opinion. I did all the ‘free’ stuff first and then bought TCB. Night and day difference. People hate on her, but I found her to be very helpful and confidence boosting in the early days when mom life was HARD. I had a reflux, colicky baby who would.not.stop.crying due to over tiredness because I couldn’t get her to nap. The schedules, the sleepy cues, the plans of how to get baby to sleep, how to extend a nap, how to wean overnight feeds and what to do during regressions was very helpful.

likehelpful

You can find "schedules" (though really at that young an age it's about wake windows, the amount of time awake between naps) to lay a good foundation for sleep (actual sleep training is typically for a little older age). The respectful sleep learning group mentioned above has all this info for free in tldr files, plus a very active community to help you 'troubleshoot'

Taking Cara Babies just takes the free information you can get about ferber and the 5 s’s from the happiest baby on the block and monetizes them for vulnerable sleep deprived parents.

likesmarthelpful

Also OP I bought all of her courses before knowing better so I’m not saying this from a completely uninformed place. Good luck with your baby!

Not me. I just use the 5 ‘S’ and as long as the baby isn’t going through a growth spurt or is overtired, it works

Very successful. I don’t wanna give her my money ever again though. Realistically everything she taught can be easily found online in other places. Paying for it just reassured me what I was researching was right.

Had no idea about the political contributions! Now I’m pissed I ever paid for it 👎🏼

I also recommend the Facebook group “Respectful sleep training” as well. Found it to be much more useful than TCB, personally

It was the single best thing I did in the early weeks. Worth it.

Update: I took the short streaming course from the happiest baby on the block last evening. Result: A nicer evening for my husband while I slept a bit, and after I fed her at 9 pm my baby slept for 4 hours for the first time.

like

She only cried during the diaper change, as always.

Is baby cluster feeding from 6-10? Overtired? This is when we struggle a lot too.

This is super normal to above average sleep! You shouldn’t expect more than this. Babe is doing great and getting exactly what they need.

Not me. It’s just a nicely packaged Ferber method. Just do that and save the money.

Bought it on a sleep deprived whim but really happiest baby material is the same. Packaged well if you appreciate that. Also babies hit peak fussiness Week 8 and just get better with age naturally

Look up “witching hour” or the “purple period” that will give you some insight into those tough periods of crying. Just know that it’s normal and temporary!

Also, I agree with the above. I thought TCB was a scam 😬

I loved tcb and recommend it to everyone! I had not been around new borns before my 1st was born so the videos really helped me (I had read moms on call and happiest baby and lots of googling). I did it around 7 weeks and saw immediate improvements

Moms, please tell me this won’t be every fall! My kid started daycare for the first time, and we’re all sick. Toddler is acting out, tyrant threes plus tired from the illness. We have ~$400k HHI. Monthly expenses are ~$6k (1 child). We live in Austin. We’re seriously considering getting a 900k to 1M house which we wouldn’t be considering if the market in Austin wasn’t so crazy but we’re really big on proximity to culture/resources and need to stay in the area (can’t move to Houston, Dallas, San Antonio , etc.). We also just honestly feel like the suburbs out here are so very bland. Thoughts on us doing this? Are we crazy? Is this understandable given where we live?

To what extent would picking a T10 (Haas, Tuck) over a T15 (excluding Stern and Cornell) positively influence my IB/consulting recruiting outcomes, assuming all else equal? Would IB employers note this difference in rankings? Always heard that the lower down the T15 you go, the more 'plus points' (e.g. relevant pre-MBA experience, high GMAT, URM) you'll need on your application to compensate for the school's rank, and while it sounds naive, I just wanted to see if there's any truth to this?
