Coworker(c1) has been complaining, with overwhelming toxicity, about a senior level coworker's(2) lack of work on programs which c2 is responsible for and usually takes credit. Now c1 is refusing to do any task related to these programs. Tasks which both c1 and I are responsible for. How do I approach c1 to talk them off the ledge? And if / how should I phrase the issue to my manager or HR?

I have a client that is terrible. Their whole company is in flux, massive scope creep & one of the people at the company is highly verbally abusive.

But it’s also a retainer that is stable & pays well (and im not sure if I can backfill them easily right now between all of the tech layoffs & the upcoming holidays).
