What are you getting into this 4 day weekend?
Hi Amazonians,
I am looking for guidance.
I am going to start interview process with Amazon next week. Probably all rounds will be done in 1-2 day time frame.
How/what should I prepare for interview?
Am clueless on what kind of ds & algo questions, system design questions are asked in Amazon interviews.
My techstack: javascript developer- react+Angular.
1. Pls guide me on what/how to prepare?
2. Also, will the interview be solely on da & algo and javascript; or on Js frameworks?

Cont’d: I make great money, and I know there’s still a chance to have an impact with the type of work I love (with some patience) but the trade-off of my mental and physical health is at risk. My previous leader will still be at the company, but at a distance and with a micromanager in-between us so I worry I won’t receive anywhere near the same support or mentorship.
I see myself at the future of this organization IF we can actually change the culture, I can see the vision, but I’m so exhausted and burned out that I’m not sure I have it in me to stay until then. I’m not excited or energized by this change, and the new leader is behaving in a way that is minimizing and dismissive, so I feel will require a lot of upward coaching from me.
Should I try and make it work with the new leader and stay? Or find somewhere else - knowing it’ll likely be less pay and maybe or maybe not be a better company culture? Really struggling to process my next step, so if any of you have been in my shoes I’d appreciate some non-biased advice. Thank you!
You got this !!
It’s super hard to move and shift, but I typically give things 6 mos to a year to shake out after big changes. That being said, it sounds like your co has been spiraling for a while and culture changes are a 3-5 year proposition. So, it depends on what you have left to give and if things become more unmanageable. I personally cannot handle micromanaging and dismissive behavior. My last supervisor was this way and I stuck it out for a few years, but I dreaded work. I casually began looking and landed a great opportunity with a step in pay and tons of growth potential. Maybe - start floating your resume and exploring opportunities. You never know -what’ll happen…
Thanks for sharing, that’s super tough but sounds like you had to set some good boundaries.
Your insight has been helpful - I think it’s time for me to walk away and find something else.
