Do some good hands on. Then apply for the tech companies. You can make a resume showing experience in devops. Give interview well, and if asked then say you are willing to learn more if given chance.
I switched from legacy tech to DevOps. It’s difficult but it’s worth it. I faced lot of rejections in many interviews. But each interview gave me something to learn and so I was able to focus on required skills specifically.
Also I was attentive to any small details related to cloud and DevOps in other projects that I was not involved in. It helps to know atleast at an organisation level what strategies are being planned around cloud.
I switched from development to devops, DM for detailed roadmap
