Depends on what you are doing. Court appearances tend to be $90-125. Ebts and motions are different. Call me, I’m a solo and do hire per diem attorneys from time to time. 212-513-1300

$100-150/hr is the average when you are doing contractual work

$50/hour is very low ?

Yes, that seems low. Considering that you're based in NY metro. It should be at least $90.

For research and writing contractual work ? I have never done it so trying to see if it’s insane low or average e

I am just unsure whether to accept the offer as I was waiting for kpmg reply as I want B4 on my resume which apparently is a big deal. Is BT also good on resume for future employers ??

A colleague of mine just informed me that she earns more than me. Not a lot. $1000. We both manage optometry practices for a large chain. I've been with company seven years and a manager for four. She joined the company a year ago with no optical experience. Her store is busier than mine, but I have the optical skills and she's still learning. I feel like we should be at least on the same level. Thoughts?

Q for associates in boutique litigation firms: When you’ve drafted a complaint/motion/brief to be filed, do the partners allow you to actually sign the filing in your own name? For context, I’m a new associate at a class action firm where there’s ample opportunity to do substantive work & pursue your own case ideas from the get go. Today, I’m getting ready to file a complaint I drafted when a partner told me to remove my signature & insert his instead. Is this standard?

I figured I would fulfill my lifelong dream of opening my own practice. Thanks!
