What’s a good small town vibe burb around Chicago? Need to stay in the area to be close to family. Also. 10 months in a new global brand side role,former agency of 15 years. Really struggling to find my footing. Projects are slow, no direction from leadership, everyone wants to outsource vs do the work, and challenging times trying to be at the right conversation bc either forgotten or just not included and should be. Everyone touts self-care for teachers. How do you guys keep up any kind of exercise during school? Right now I’m getting in 3 quality runs per week, along with at least 1 round of disc golf (about a 4 mile walk). Historically, I haven’t been able to maintain that when school is in session. Argh.

Anyone else considering quitting? I use to look forward to going to work. This morning I sat on the bed and cried. I have health conditions, my school will not accommodate, and we had Covid-19 cases last week.

Does anyone find it sad that it’s on the news more about students committing suicide from not being able to attend school then from students who are being bullied to the point they commit suicide? The loss of a life is devastating no matter what the circumstances are which lead to the taking of ones life.

Making mu fall schedule is crazy!

Need an opinion. I just finished week 2. I do an hour after school club at my district once a week on zoom and none of my own schools students participate. I received a very nasty and aggressive email from a parent making threats and hyperbolic accusations so I forwarded the email to the personnel at the district. They were supportive but is still willing to “work together to assist her”. I thought I was pretty vocal that I did not appreciate the way she addressed me and don’t take lightly to

Zoom Tip: Give out your zoom code to students RIGHT BEFORE the class starts to avoid zoom bombers (when students give out the code to strangers). Also, make sure the default is set on the waiting room so you have to approve all participants. I learned the hard way.

How many of you have sensory paths at your school to help frustrated kids to refocus? they look fun and something I would like to do when I'm stressed!

We were told recently that as more kids return to school there are no social distancing rules but that the kids are to wear their masks at all times. So I don’t think that this is isolated to just my campus.

What accountability systems does your school have in place for missing assignments/zeroes? Trying to help with ideas for next year!
