I recently watched a video that talked about "voluntary reduction of income", which is where a person intentionally leaves their job and/or takes a lower paying job than what they qualified for in order to decrease chid support payments. I don't understand why anyone would ever do that? Can anyone explain reasoning behind this action?

Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years. In TCS salary breakup I found there are 2 component of variable pay one is monthly and 2nd is quarterly both having same digit in breakup. I don’t understand whether I will be getting monthly variable as fixed and QVA as per the quarterly performance of myself team and company.

What is the best service line to start with for high pay and career growth?

I recently accepted an offer (company X) for Aug 1. Com X (big company) is a media planning role (same title I have now: Senior associate), but in a different media type & pays $10K more ($70K). However, I had also applied to PM roles and had no luck with getting any callbacks until recently.

Com Y, is small (<100 employees) but pays $80K+. Would it be weird to take an offer and then leave (if I get the com y job)?

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? HR question. When switching companies and the new company has a 30 day waiting period before health insurance starts, how do y'all handle insurance coverage? Cobra wouldn't be an option as resigning doesn't qualify.

I am an hourly employee. Currently if there is a hospital call that needs to be done, someone will volunteer to do it for overtime. Now, my company wants to create a set call schedule. If we get a call at 5pm, when my shift ends, can I still be required to complete the call? I will be paid overtime but don’t like the fact they will force it upon us.
