I am working in CTS for 2 years and 5 months ..I am currently PA now ..when will I be promoted to associate ..all those who have joined with have become associate ..is the promotion based on Year end ratings

What do you think about working for a defense and space contractor? I currently work at a large space contractor and it’s awful. I legit haven’t learned anything (maybe 3 things and they are very minimal and not really anything) in the couple of years I’ve been here since everything is so controlled and thinking outside of the box is a no no.

Switch to Strategy?
L7 Consulting, Chicago, $152k, ~4 YoE total. MD in Strategy has offered to sponsor me to move over as Manager. I’ve been told by SMD in Consulting (who recruited me) that I should be expecting L6 SM in the next year, year and a half, and likely won’t get promoted as fast in Strategy. Would welcome advice on how to think about transfer / negotiating compensation if I stay in Consulting. TIA!

For CPAs that do not work at a public firm, how do you keep track of your CPE credits? Where do you register for courses? Does it get expensive? I am leaving PwC next week for a small private equity firm, and I will be the only CPA. I need to take ownership of CPE and would love to hear some advice.

What would recruiters think of career gaps after working for 3 years right after college

Looking for advice on how to move into advisory and if it’s recommended as the primary caregiver for 2 young children in regards to WLB. I have been in financial services audit for 5 years and it really isn’t a fit for my personality. Have a BS in accounting and CPA, do I need to go back for an MBA?

Anyone make the jump from legal practice to being a professor with a similar pay range? I always thought if I didn’t practice law I would’ve liked to teach. Not sure I can give up the pay I have now, but would be really cool if I could get a gig as a professor that had a similar salary to what I currently net.

I am not in law school yet. But I was wondering where I can find out about other opportunities besides the standard tax attorney route. I am almost a CPA and currently in audit.

So what happens to comp for associates that are more senior than the scale (ie grad year 2013 or earlier now)? I’m a 7th year and considering a lateral move, which would likely push my partnership eligibility by a couple years because I’ll need to create a track record at the new firm. If I go and I’m still an associate past my 8th year, would I remain at the comp level of an 8th year or how is that usually handled?

Say I work in tech and have a decent finance experience. Would my 3 yoe of domain "expertise" in tech make me an attractive bet for the banks Tech coverage team? In other words, does having experience in Tech make me more hireable for IBD?

After joining cts, I was mapped to a good project, before it started was mapped to a different one
Here I'm working with bug fixes and enhancement of legacy apps java 7, I really don't like it And as I don't know anyone upclose not feeling comfortable at work, feels like I'm judged for everything I do

Fishes, I am selected as a Senior Associate - Projects in Cognizant. Manager told me there would be 3 people reporting to me.
1) Can I know how much development I would be doing?
2) What would be my exact roles and responsibilities?

I will be losing on a lot of bonus if I join Cognizant. Should I negotiate on my CTC adding my bonus in my base salary or ask them to compensate for the lost bonus as joining bonus

Also, I had a retention clause with my current company for a certification I did, which was costly; can I ask Cognizant to consider paying it?
