I’m curious to hear from people at other firms what is offered in terms of part time work or alternative work options for people that don’t really care about making partner and might want to work part time. I just had my second child and want to ask to come back from maternity leave on a part time basis but our firm doesn’t seem to have anything in place right now. As an accounting major does it look bad to not have a cpa... really struggling. Mainly cause my heart just isn’t in it. I want to risk consulting or it assurance and potentially work towards my cisa. But since I have an accounting degree I feel as though it’s going be look down on if I don’t do my cpa.

My quota is based on invoiced sales that resets quarterly. This includes a sliding-scale commission % based on how far you’re at on your quarterly goal (towards quota) which is checked/paid once a month. The only thing that goes toward our quota is PAID sales. This excludes orders still being processed by DE (largest orders) and customers still within NET payment terms. We don’t get paid until the company gets paid. Am I missing warning potential? Am I being expected of A and judged on B?

I’m starting my career in TAS, and have an opportunity to join the healthcare team at my firm. I am thinking of taking it, and wanted to crowdsource some more pro/cons from seasoned hc professionals.

A big pro for me, is there is a big in-office representation for the group, and with starting my career and a hybrid WFH model, I think it would be advantageous to my learning. I do have an interest in the industry, but have some apprehension in specializing too soon.
