Go to your company / other similar websites and read the job description for Proj Manager postings. That’ll give you the best sense of responsibilities.
Our project manager is the SPOC for every team related project. They need to see the progress across all departments and need to have or be able to find the answers to questions quickly all while keeping communication lines open between staff and clients. It’s a big job and not just about writing emails and changing status’ on Monday. It’s almost all communication and quick pivoting and problem solving. Our PM’s do such a great job but you can definitely see they need breaks. But if you’re doing your job right, it means you’re working hard.
Single Point of Contact. The client would speak to that one person instead of dealing with every team member involved on a project individually.
