I am having 8 years of experience in development. But I started losing interest in coding. I want to move to management side mainly scrum master which I have lot of interest. Is it feasible to shift from developer to scrum master? I recently joined new company. Will they give me opportunity for the same? Any kind of advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.Wipro Tata Consultancy DXC Technology Capgemini

I spent almost 2 years in UW Support before getting the opportunity to transition. My advice is to make your aspirations known to that team and start asking to shadow someone in that role. The most successful and rapid ascents come from taking the initiative and showing your understanding more complex and challenging aspects of the role. Good luck.
Would definitely recommend a graduate program if you are able to get on one (very competitive though) if not then agree that you should make your aspirations very clear and go above and beyond so they have no choice but to promote you, best of luck!
You don’t need a Grad degree to be an Underwriter, but an MBA would be encouraged for leadership. New York Life has an UW training program called LAUNCH that starts every summer, would encourage you to apply and you could be a fully trained UW by this time next year!
Chubb has a similar underwriting associate program with a set 2 year timeline and then the opportunity for promotion. If you’re set on underwriting the CPCU designation is good to have.
Talk to your manager about your aspirations and budget about a year from when you declare intent. Promos are lagging indicators, you’ll typically be doing the job of the next level up for 6+ mons before you lock it in and get promo’d.
There’s generally 2 kinds of promos. In role is when you go from like P1 to P2 and requires no org changes. You can run that all the way to P6 and be quite successful as a rockstar individual contributor. Org based promos, P track to M track or up the M track require org changes. These require great performance and a little luck. Sounds like you’re P1 or maybe P2, you have plenty of room to grow here.
Regarding grad school, my grad degrees were massively helpful in accelerating my career, but YMMV (lots of dependencies).
