Hi, I’m travelling to Canada on PR status by July 2022. I currently work for one of the Big 4 consultancies (been here since five years). I would like to understand how much weight that would carry when searching for a job in Canada. Would it even matter? Also, can you suggest if it’s a good idea to approach job consultancies? If yes, any recommendations? PwC EY Deloitte KPMG

Accounting and Finance like a Controllers position will come with great potential. Or a Director or VP of IA. If you're really good at what you do, you can push for CAO at a smaller company. If you want to make bank, come to tech. We were looking for and could have hired someone like you, just hired someone this past Monday. Would have made more than 200k. Banks, chemicals, oil & gas will also pay you well. Good luck!
14 years in audit...aren’t you like a pped by now or almost?
I do not want to. Sales pressure, politics management, lean staffing situation is not worth of partners comp.
The beauty of a career in accounting and auditing is that it opens so many doors to all kinds of career paths. I recommend you figure out what you’re most passionate about, look for companies that offer that path and pursue it. It could be staying within the realm of accounting but on the private side or something outside of accounting. For the latter you might have to take a small step back. I work with so many HR/recruiting professionals who started their career on the accounting side of the business.
