Hi, I have been in the business where I am for over 15 years. Even after I became a MD, there’s always few who undermines my skill sets and knowledge. Similar to the other posts I’m tired of this (whack a mole game, squid game) and I still have 3 years prior to vest my pension. I’m debating losing my sanity vs. losing good pension. To be honest unless I can move laterally to another role, I’m bored with what I’m doing right now.

Move internally or highly recommend trying an exec coach who can help you shut down insubordination — would try these before I gave up my pension

Holy cow - I came on here to post something similar and then read your post. I keep thinking there has to be something more, I can’t keep having to “explain” or “prove” myself over and over at the MD role when I see others not. It’s exhausting. I hope you find something that motivates you soon - I vest next year, however have already updated my resume and profile.

I’m in the same boat. Every day is a struggle and really questioning whether I can stay until vesting. Life is short and even a few more years is too much. I’ve been trying to move to a different role / team. Perhaps we’ll see more senior women joining the Great Resignation.

When did you feel like you were successful? People around me think it’s impressive that I work at Deloitte; however, I’m miserable and hate the work I’m doing. Just accepted another job that others would deem a dream company and salary but I’m just afraid of being miserable there too. I just don’t feel like I’m good enough, will be happy, or be in a position where I feel like I’m successful as others.

I had an interview for a position with a person that would be my co manager in this new department. I felt like he was trying to give me hard questions and never really listened to my answers. He basically was letting me know how he would handle the situation and try to cut me off when I did a follow up. I am like was that a good answer or was I way off. He has only been in that role for 3 weeks so might be an ego thing. I am like did I pass the interview haha. Advice.

Guilty! Being the interviewee recently has taught me what I failed to do as an interviewer. 1Outline your hiring process/timeline. Simple but oft overlooked. Tell them how many people they’ll be meeting, when u aim to shortlist, when u aim to hire. Communicate- someone is probably intensely waiting for any word. They may miss other opportunities for u. 2 Closure! Surprising how many places don’t let u know when they’ve moved on from u! 3 Can u offer helpful advice for them? 4 Reply to all.

Help!? Have 100k in cash (had been <stupidly> conservative about investing while paying loans). 90k addl. coming in to invest on annual basis going forward (what’s left of base + bonus after taxes, maxing 401k, and all expenses), which mostly comes in end of year bonus (55-60k post tax) and rest monthly (3kish a month). Only big goals are buying house (~$1.25M ballpark) in ~3yrs, contribute to 529 (plan for 1 kid) and maximize long term net worth potential. How would you approach it all?

I work in a 7-attorney firm with a national presence. Partly because I’m only a few months in, I work a roughly 8-6 day. I’m also new to billing and often find myself working all day and billing just 4 hours. Whenever I bring this up to the partner, he says it’s good we’re not over billing our client. We don’t have minimum billable hours so it doesn’t matter much for the firm’s sake but I think I’m missing out on learning the important skill of billing my time. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Also, assuming he was genuine, I want to update him on what I've done since our chat and ask about how to prepare for any upcoming discussions/case interviews? Am I being too pushy? Thx
