Hi. I have very low AMH, 36 years old & never have been pregnant. I have done 2 IVF cycles this year approx 5 months apart. Each time had only 2 eggs retrieved, 1 fertilization each which lead to the embryo reaching blastocyst stages both times & both came back normal after genetic testing 🤍 talk about beating the statistics odds! 🤞🏻 I now have 2 cutie embryos saved. My husband & I would love to have twins and will be speaking to my doctor about the best options. Twins thoughts?

I don’t know the stats on this, but I wonder if you are more likely to end up with at least one baby if you transfer them separately. It would be heartbreaking to transfer them both and have it fail and then you don’t have another embryo.

IVF embryos are already more likely to split so many doctors won’t transfer two. I am also not sure that I would transfer both if those are the only embryos you have in case you discover there’s an implantation issue and can address it on second transfer. Testing doesn’t guarantee a positive outcome, it increases chances slightly by about 10-15% for those over 35 according to studies. And you are on the cusp in terms of age.
I have low AMH and we transferred our only 36 year old embryo untested with success.

Copying post where I talked about twins. We had to really push and advocate to be allowed to transfer two, due to it being our first round, I'm 32, and we did PGT. But after not taking no for an answer, we ultimately transferred two! :)
Overall advice, understand the risks and that the pregnancy could be more challenging. (I've been fortunate, but let me tell you, once about 30 weeks rolls around and you're the size of someone full-term, it does start to get rough). But so worth it in our opinion! Good luck!

Also, we spoke with not only our RE, but our OB and PCP about twins. The OB and PCP were actually supportive, of course discussed the risks as well.
Do you mind if I ask why you did your IVF cycle approx 5 months apart
I had cancer last year and after my 1-year cancer free mark this year I was flagged for possible recurrence and needed to wait for doctor clearance. Otherwise my second cycle would have been sooner. I was eventually cleared for the second cycle. I was advised to limit additional cycles by my team of doctors because the increase in estrogen would not be good for my body and cancer history. I still am not cleared for pregnancy until I have the OK with my next doctor appts/scans which is toward the end of this year. I’m hoping I am healthy and can have a transfer by the end of this year 🤞🏻🤍
Thanks everyone 🥰
