Your best bet is to go with a local attorney. I’m an attorney but I found mine for my home purchase through my realtor. My firm had recommendations too but residential real estate is simple enough that most local attorneys with decent reviews will be good and won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Are you doing it without a broker? Else they recommend their own contact of attorney

Hey,

I interviewed for a practice manager position. This was an interview with the director. This went well. She now wants me to meet with the staff and doctors in person for a second round.

Anyone that’s ever done this, can you let me know what to expect? The types of questions to ask the doctors. How I should be interacting with the staff as their prospective manager?

Hi all, I have the long-term goal of ultimately getting into a good Venture Capital firm at Associate level. I currently work at Amazon , did my undergrad and Masters in Economics at LSE. I have 2 main questions:
1) Is it even possible/feasible to pivot from Amazon to VC given my background?
2) I have the option to internally transfer in Amazon to a product/program manager role or AWS in a start-up Manager role - which of these would be best to maximise my chances of eventually getting into VC?

Would love everyone’s thoughts! Which of these two options would you pick if your goal is to buy and hold for appreciation purposes given these are in a very hot market. Both same lot size.

Option 1:
- $175k lot located on very busy street but across the street from new $700k townhomes and restaurants

Option 2:
- $250k 3 bed/1 bath fixer upper located at end of dead end street, houses on street all fixer uppers, located down the street from Option 1 (so also near new builds and restaurants)

Making an offer. The sellers said they had 30+ people walk through the open house today, and are asking for best and final. They’ll make a decision on Monday. The list price is 775k. We were originally thinking of offering 700 to start since comps are around 735k. However, this is nicer than the comps renovation-wise. What would you all suggest we offer? We’d rather lose the house than overpay, so this concerns us.

We own a rental property that has appreciated quite a bit and have the opportunity to do a 30-yr cash out refi at 75% LTV that would leave us with about $200,000 at the end of the deal. Rent currently wouldn’t cover the costs and we’d need to deploy the cash and earn about $750/mo to break even. We’d ideally like to use the money to invest in other property and syndicates. Seem like a good idea? Not sure if we are over leveraging ourselves and it’s worth the risk.
