How about change the formula that returns the blank to return something else (e.g the word “blank”) and run the sumif based on that?
Criteria = "", or whatever the formula is outputting
I tried this and it’s not returning a value because the cell is not truly blank due to the formula sitting it
Instead of blank, have the formula spit out one space, so “ “. Sumif on that.

Plz never use " " if "" isn't working. It will f* up so many things later on (e.g. the excel cells being empty without being empty error, replacement errors etc.)
If the blank cell is created by a SUM, it seems you have set zeros to not to be shown. Still the value of the cell is 0. So just add that as criteria.
How about nesting ISBLANK in your formula?

Agree with Bain1, have it spit out a value, maybe 0, then use Conditional Formatting to make 0s have white font. Then use 0 as your criteria in the sumifs!
