I am looking to switch careers. I have been in my current career for nearly 20 years. I need a change. I have masters degree in instructional technology, health care administration, and English. I am working on trying to work my current skills into today's job market. That is more difficult than I anticipated. I guess I'm wondering if there really is anything out there to switch to? I feel lucky to have a job, but it is getting very depressing and difficult to get up for work.

Does anyone have any thoughts/advice for someone wanting to switch out of insurance defense because they do not enjoy litigation/billables/want to help people in a bigger way? Does anyone practicing in this area struggle with the feeling that you’re just going through the motions until a settlement is reached and the underlying work doesn’t really “matter”?

Been severely struggling with depression and anxiety lately. Obviously this job is one big reason why. I opened up to the partner a few months back about it when I started missing random days when I couldn’t get out of bed. Maybe 2/3 days over the last 4 months total. This week he sat me down and told me he is worried about my mental health causing me to be a “liability” to the firm. I can’t stop thinking about this and don’t know how to turn it around.

Current HHI ~175k, $40k student loan debt ($200 monthly) no other debts (credit card/car etc) Project HHI for option two ~210k. Let’s assume I can save 75k for DP for option 1 and 150k for option 2.

Hi moms - I had posted earlier about nanny not active with toddler ( toddler bottles up and melts down a lot in the evening), let baby cry etc. I had the gut feeling that she is not the right fit for us and many moms here agreed. I am now trying to tell her that she isn’t the fit for us but this is my first time. Can you provide suggestions how to let go a nanny ? I plan to provide her severance for 2 weeks but I am not sure how to tell her - short and sweet

Hi fishes, Please help me decide from the below two roles : Deloitte USI - Another resource for a very long term internal project. EY India - I would be given the responsibility of basically building up an SAP vertical from almost the scratch, along side a client facing project. Renumeration is not a concern. 6 YOE, SAP Tech Consulting
So I’m one of 2 BA’s on a project where we’re not given much responsibility by our SC( He’s acting M). He owns almost everything from USI calls, calls with the clients (he leads/doesn’t include us), and only allows us to execute testing and when I ask to support in other activities he says “it’ll be easier if I just do it.” I understand that however how are we expected to develop, learn, and get ready for our next roles? I just feel as if he’s not very good at delegating.
