The current administration has banned critical race theory-based diversity training across federal agencies claiming education around white privilege is anti-American. As someone who is dedicated to anti-racism work, I believe these conversations on the pervasiveness of systemic racism are necessary in order to dismantle the broken system and are central to our work as HR professionals. I fear what precedent this ban will set. No wrong choice here - agency vs client side. Unless, something's drastically wrong, the biggest benefit of your first role, which you should crush and move through in a year, is to give more concrete knowledge about what you want to do, and importantly who you want to be in a business context. Choose based on your potential manager. The best ones will help with all of the above and more.
My experience was at UM in 2004 and it was great because there was a structured environment where I learned the business. I did well in that environment. Today I’m a very different person and I would not want to work within that structure, so knowing yourself will be important. Socially it was a great team with lots of fun people and really great outings because we were spending so much.
