It is not only a problem of PF transfer, it is a dual employment issue. Did your new employer not ask what is your LWD??. Ask your new employer to change the joining date and mention the date after 31st dec.

even in your relieving letter the Joining date for your current firm and lwd with previous firm will be same. Good luck explaining that one to the HR. My question is why did you wait so long that after joining you are asking this question.. no point right. You should have taken a decision before joining.
