Don’t expect it to always be fair. People hired over the last six months were able to negotiate big signing bonuses and higher bases. That’s just the way it is unfortunately

like

There was no negotiation process! We received our only and final offers before merger.

Do you bring in the same amount of money? Effort, tenure, function, etc. Don't really matter.

Roles are tech management and it’s not sales. We do very similar job and actually I lead the largest team. Background, experience and academic degrees I am the top one there.

The bonus is comparable to our base. I wonder what can I do with the new info? It bothers me a lot. I appreciate your inputs.

Hard to know without additional details and context, but it feels like like there is a disconnect in how you view your position in the company vs your managers. Is there a way you could communicate your career ambition to them more clearly? It’s not fair, but often people get promoted based on their “potential” and ambition vs real results. Sorry you are going through this 💕 I have been reading a book called How women rise - would highly recommend.

Go get another job offer

This is the right answer, OP. Use your knowledge to your advantage. Get another offer & leverage your inside info to negotiate comp adjustment. But—be prepared to walk away & set parameters for what you’re willing to take.

Imagine the scenario. Two people are needed for exactly the same job, and there is a £100k budget to pay for them. One is willing to work for £45k the other for £55k. If you try to pay both equally you will have one very happy employee but still be short on resources as the other person rejects the offer. If you pay them unequally you have two content employees. Which is a much better business outcome. What you can do with this info is put yourself on the job market. If there is a tangible threat of you leaving, salary corrections magically start appearing.

If it’s worth staying, get another offer and then talk about compensation with them. Be prepared to jump though.
