Hi everyone! Curious if anyone here works for Slack and can shed a little light on the culture and perhaps offer a referral for an associate brand manager position I just saw on LinkedIn. With the Salesforce acquisition are SF employees allowed to refer for Slack roles? Currently a senior analyst with 4 YOE looking to break into a branding role! Thanks in advance.
Anyone from EY? Need referral.
Looking for a referral if anyone can help

When you’re early career, try not to get caught up in applying only to big name companies that you think would look impressive on a resume. The first few years should be dedicated to learning as much as humanely possible and, a lot of the time, smaller companies will give you more responsibility and opportunity to rise to the challenge.
Then, with everything you’ve learned there, you can consider exploring the more flashy companies and job titles with experience under your belt that you can feel confident about!
My only advice: apply everywhere. Marketing is very competitive.

Honestly, I got my start with a great local company! Look at places in your area- My other advice is that look at the brands you use every single day and love, they all have companies behind them and usually they need marketing!
Love this advice. I started at a small local non-profit and was intentional about gaining trust and getting my hands on as many projects as possible. My next role? SAP. 💫
I think working at the larger media companies. (Group M, Ogilvy, Publicis Groupe, Omnicom) That would be a good start. I found that most people start out their careers in marketing at a media agency. Most the agencies have a training program or cohort for people early in their careers too.
Any company will work. I will suggest don't get picky and getting some experience. After that, start beefing up your resume for new opportunities.
I’m actually starting the search for a digital marketing coordinator for my team. Would you be interested in submitting your resume?
It would depend on what industry you want to work in. I would say a small marketing firm would be better because you will be doing a lot of different tasks and figuring out what you like.
I completely agree with everything mentioned above! Apply for a job at stratups, local companies, learn and find what you like the most in Digital Marketing. Best of luck!
Local companeis for sure - there is so much to learn and you can really grow into the niche you want. I would say you get more exposure that way
Where are you located and what are your specialities? There are so many different marketing companies across the world. I'd just apply to as many as possible to be honest.
Research companies that align with a concept you are passionate about. LinkedIn and Creatively are great places for marketing careers.
100% go the agency route. After leaving my agency after 3 years and going client side I think it should be mandatory for everyone to be on the agency side first. It’s the best possible learning experience and will set you up to be a better client for your future agencies, allowing you to be empathetic to what goes on on their side and ensuring your requests are reasonable
