Hi, I’m a fairly new pharmacist 6 months experience. I work for a hospital pharmacy that is constantly turning over techs and pharmacists. Plus it’s really hard to get my PTO covered as I work night shift.Should I look for a new job? Should I wait it out.
I’m underpaid, but it’s a short commute from my house.

I think you should look for a new job, this sounds like a sure-fire way into burn out

There is no harm in looking, it just takes time. If you do not look you will never find a way to something better before burnout

considering you work for a hospital, try applying for a different shift or just take your pto !! it’s up the employer to find coverage

Take your PTO, and make it a stink of it - it's not okay not to use it, and they need to make accommodations to some extent. Start looking around too, there have to be other opportunities around

All - for those who left Deloitte, how was PTO payout calculated for you? I know it’s your salary/(52 weeks x 40hr/wk) and then multiply it by the PTO hours accrued. I read it’s taxed at 22%. Is that the only tax or you also have to add social security & Medicare tax %? Thanks!

Randomly checking a job website specifically for a field I’m interested in and found a really great opportunity. The issue is I have a long vacation planned in late June through end of August which I can’t move (family member wedding from home country who I haven’t seen in six years). Should I still even bother applying? It’s the type of position I’ve been wanting for a couple years now.

I’ve had four interviews in the past week, and I’ve noticed that HMs and recruiters aren’t as serious as they should be: 1. They got up in the middle of the interview to answer the door. 2. Biting their nails throughout the entire interview while working on something else. 3. Mentioned that I need to be available 24/7 and can only offer a title less than I currently am because they don’t have a high budget. Is there anything that I can do stop this? Maybe consider another industry?
