Bain & Company Hi all, I am interested in making the move to the Middle East, however starting from august/September. What do you think are the prospects for the future in the region? Do you envisage a hiring freeze or are companies still going strong? Thanks!McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Kearney Bain & Company

You don’t want to be a CD. Trust me
With 🤑🤑🤑 comes 😭😭😭😭
I'd honestly consider going to a portfolio school. Work on your book and team up with someone.
Simple answer is to go to ad school. You are currently in beginner status and self teaching is tuff. Checkout Denver Ad school, the cheapest school right now that is good. Also, you are looking at the positions based on which one would lead to a creative director. Both can lead to a CD, but you should look at the positions based on which one you like.
Yeah after seeing the replies found that eventually. Very cool, thank you!
Go to portfolio school. You won’t get hired without a decent book. You won’t get a decent book without portfolio school. You need teachers to tell you as fast as possible how mediocre you are so you can improve and gain skills. You learn with people who know better and who mentor you. You need creative peers to work with and compete with. The network and coming from somewhere agencies recognize as a stamp of approval will also open opportunities.
I just added that for more info for people to know what I actually mean. I have aspirations but would not cry if life takes me somewhere else eventually. It‘s not the title, it’s the work I‘m interested at the moment
Try talking to some creatives about their roles and figure out which one you’d want to do more. You want to be sure before you spend hundreds of hours on a book.
Then study the craft. If you want to be an art director you’ll need to understand the foundational components of design (contrast, proportion, file types, color modes) and how to work the technical aspects of the programs. Interns are expected to hit the ground running and know how to mock up images and create designs for social media and banners. Then you need to assemble a portfolio of spec work that demonstrates design thinking, concepting ability, and technical skills.
The fastest way there is portfolio school. The other way is through reading ad books and finding a mentor to critique you on a regular basis.
You should also look into lateral creative roles like social media content creator. A lot of junior in roles in content do both copy and art (to a basic extent) so you might be able to get a taste of both in an agency environment. It won’t lead you to a job as a creative director but you can meet more creatives there and figure out if you want to go to ad school.
Thanks a lot for the reply. Appreciated
This was/is meeeeeeee but went from strat to design. Happy to share my experience!
