Hi, I’m a student recruitment coordinator with a degree in environmental science (never practised) but I want to move into leadership and human development field. Any advice about the schooling I need to take to make the transition !

Can you pursue a minor in human development? It should cover the basics.

Are there any classes available at your local community college or campus branch? Otherwise I would try online, masterclass, coursea etc. Learn what you can and translate into skills.

I would look into certifications and see how you can make an internal move to a leadership position in your current role to help with the hands on experience

The question is, is graduation from law school, not minimum competency? With this line of reasoning we are saying that law schools do not produce competent future lawyers, so should we instead switch to a system of taking the bar without the three years of a measure that frankly bar associations have deemed not an adequate measure? Dash this comment aside if it is fallible, but there is something here that has been overlooked. Competence is not regurgitation and memorization.

Hi all. Went through an interview with a pay range of 150-160k; I provided my range as 165-175k and was offered 135k. The manager said he can get to my range given performance.

What sort of performance metrics/guidelines should I set before I accept? Also, any suggestions on how I can improve other benefits instead (PTO, etc.)? Thank you in advance!

Has anyone heard of or conducted reference checks by video meeting? I submitted references for a job, and they’ve been contacted… for a video chat/meeting. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of this, and I feel terrible for not being able to warn my references ahead of time. I also feel like this is a huge ask of references - no one has the time for or wants another video meeting during business hours. Anyone doing this or hear of it? Is it a new or common thing?

I'm looking for some resources on HR staffing models for HR/Recruiting/Payroll. I'm trying to provide analysis on correct staffing for our teams.

We are in a high turnover industry and do lots of hiring. Here are some details that might help. 2021 we hired 341 people/ 191 in turnover. 2022 we've hired 200 people/181 in turnover. Overall we are an organization right over 500 employees/projecting 600 EEs next yr.

I’m not old BUT when I was younger I thought it was important to have all the alphabets after my name (I.e. Phr, SHRM and all the others). I learning that the younger crowd coming into the market thrives off these identifiers yet they know very little about the real world aspects of the job. I watch leadership roll their eyes at the email footers. I feel like keeping those attached to my name hurts my credibility so I removed them…. I’m I thinking wrong?
