How much weight do you give Glassdoor and other employee reviews? In the process for a referral interview, looked on GD, and the company had a 2.9 with 0% approval of their “young CEO”. Flags included toxic culture, overworking employees, smoke and mirrors hype. It is an agency startup though, so a heavy workload I feel is common. It’s also closer to the field I want to be in, but does not sound like a coaching environment. Should I go forward or just politely decline?

Hi , Why D is keeping on bragging abt announcing thr new chennai exact loc. Everybody here is reiterating the same thing like it will wil be announced by April end , may mid , May end, June start etc... just why ? Even my hiring manager wrote paragraphs abt it in a reply to my email asking abt office loc whose is from Blore offc. Well there’s been a lot of rejection in 2020, but I finally accepted a role at a new employer today. It may not be my “dream” but I believe my possibilities are endless and they are aware of my long-term career goals. Finally some good news after all the negatives the previous year has brought me.

I was just on my way to call my boss to leave my notice as my job was not at all what was promised when I was headhunted, and I just signed with McKinsey. However, before this my boss called me for a CTL as he felt I was unengaged and did not perform and I received a great severance package.
1) Am I “only” the winner here? I wasn’t engaged because it was a bullshit job, but I didn’t think I was doing THAT poorly.
2) Can I tell them I’m going to McKinsey? Can they revert the severance?
