Hi! I’m interviewing for an HRBP role at an entertainment/events company based in Los Angeles. I disclosed my range as 105k+ and the recruiter was transparent that the top range of their base salary is 90k, where I’m at now. In a perfect world I’d like to jump 5-10k with total comp totaling 100k+. This is a very similar role to what I’m doing now and honestly I would consider a lower base to get my foot in the door at this new company. Thoughts & feedback? YOE in HR = 4.5 & I have my SHRM-CP.

Honestly, taking a lateral move in pay and title, is not always ideal after a few months in your role. Honestly, you’d wouldn’t receive a raise or increase for a couple year unless you have a strong career path to grow at the new company. You should look at other options that have a strong comp and bonus potential!

Getting “a foot in the door” is seldom a good approach. Enter an org/company at the market level and pay for the scope and responsibilities aligned with the role. It’s much harder to navigate promotions than it is to come in at the right level/ pay. Separately, sports and entertainment companies typically don’t have to pay premium rates because the roles are so sexy and desirable- the industry’s know it and take advantage of the healthy pipeline.

Hi, I have completed my interview with Publicis Sapient Interview 1 month back and cleared it. HR said he will send mail for documents submission, and after following up with him for multiple times, he gave various reasons and finally sent the mail last week. I sent him the documents on same day, but after that he stopped responding to my calls and messages. Anybody else faced this situation?

Those who have returned to a law firm from being in-house - what was your experience like? If you hated a firm the first time, was it better the second time around? I don't agree with Dave Ramsey on many things but there's one thing that really made sense.

He says keep your investments mostly in equities even into retirement since you can take advantage of the market while retired since you don't plan to withdraw everything all at once. You also have to keep 3-4 years of expenses in savings in case of market downturns.

In retirement, when the market is high, withdraw from the market. When the market is low, withdraw from savings and replenish. Thoughts?

So coming out of the start-up phase), and would lead a new ATS implementation, implement processes, and handle all of the recruitment responsibilities.
