Have you thought about going into sales or technical support? Field Application Scientist get to apply their expertise from being a bench scientist but also pick up extra skills in customer service and public speaking. You also get to network a lot more too and can see what is out there.

consulting that focuses on your area of expertise

Another option is to get into lab informatics! You could look for Business Analyst positions for Pharma/biotech companies that are implementing LIMS/ELN systems

like

What kind of research? Discovery? Process development? Depending on your experience there is technical consulting

Have you thought about clinical operations? Regulatory affairs?

I'm in the same boat as you are. Research scientist in Medchem and I've been looking into technician positions servicing laboratory equipment.

What is it about your current position that is encouraging you to switch? That may help narrow down what you may be interested in

Thank you all for your responses! These are already much better answers than I got from my coworkers who all told me lab manager or program manager were the only options

Hey fishes,

I have a question. Currently I'm working in Mindtree as a Infrastructure Engineer and basically there is nothing much technical in it.

I am very much interested in cloud and Devops and currently started learning about it as well.

I just wanted to know, how much tough it would be for me to switch from a support role to Devops role? (I am having 14 months of experience)

P.S. kindly provide me 11 likes to unlock DM feature.

I trained on .net and then after I supported .net application. After 3 years I got to work on ssrs reports. We build reports from scratch in ssrs, then I worked on qlik view application. Attended training on qlik sense. My question is for which openings/certificate I have to look .net (I have only support knowledge) or reporting tools like ssrs, qlik view ? I am struggling to choose with the way to upgrade myself.

I have been accepted for prince 2 foundation + practitioner (accelerated) course in sabacloud. This course is delivered by sure skills. Anyone has taken this course? Do we give a test at the end of this course or do we get prince2 certification for attendance? I’m trying to evaluate if this course is worth attending for 3 full working days - i.e do I need to attend this course to become eligible for giving a prince2 exam or attending the course itself suffice?

I'm a Java developer building products in networking domain. I'm strong in converting requirements into design and building products from scratch. I'm spending 12 hours everyday at work, unable to spend any time on brushing up algorithms.
I'm not happy with the money that I make for the efforts that I'm putting in, want to switch to good product company. I wish I get more time to learn and prepare for interview. Just putting my thoughts here.

Hi all! I just wanted to share my experience with the CPA exam and how I prepped in hope that it helps some of you. I just found out that I passed my last exam yesterday and I’m now in the process of applying for licensure. I took REG and passed with a 75 about two years ago now. I also took the other 3 around the same time and failed all of them. I tried to fit them all into a semester but that wasn’t realistic for me. Fast forward a year later after I got out of PA and went into industry cont.

What are some of the best books you’ve read about people and investing? Such as dealing with people (business psychology almost) and then investing (real estate more specifically)!

I am looking for books that give practical advice, not just big picture theory and motivation.
