Hi I’m thinking about getting an MBA in the near future, I was wondering which service line places well into a top 15 or top 10 program. Audit, Tax, Risk Advisory, Tax Tech, Financial Accounting Advis

I wouldn’t try to play that game. Your application needs to make sense for what you’re trying to get to and how an mba will get you there. So pick a field that is most interesting to you and don’t try to game the system by pursuing a field you think would give you better “odds”

Probably financial accounting advisory or tax tech or any true advisory practice. But MBA applications look at your entire profile; race/sex, undergrad prestige/GPA and GMAT scores. You should be able to look at top school’s student profiles or LinkedIn people in these MBA programs to get some ideas of the people coming in.

Curious to know why you’re thinking MBA / what field are you looking to move into.

Thanks for your input

I'm an incoming cyber risk analyst at D. As my start date got pushed, I enrolled in a part-time masters in cybersecurity at NYU. Does having an MS vs. certs have more value? (excluding CISSP/OSCP) or is it vice versa? Also, does having a MS help expedite promotion route?

For a SE with industry experience, is an MS/MBA program worth it (as compared to a regular MBA)? My goal was to acquire business skills to start something of my own. I feel like an MS in CS is mostly meant for someone pivoting into the field with no experience. But part of me thinks it could be good if I want to get into technical management. The other part of me things that inevitably, one degree (the MS or MBA) will go to waste depending on what I do after graduating.

Public Service Announcement to all of you who add notes or comments to individual cells in a large data set. PLEASE STOP!

The better alternative is to create a notes column then add the note in the newly created column to the specific line you are referencing. Then you can filter on the colums and read though them all and filter down on specific lines. Much better than searching through the data set.
