Hi, is there a difference between having the job title Recruiter and Talent Acquisition? Duties and salary wise?

In my experience it’s putting lipstick on a pig (it’s me, I’m the pig) jokes aside, it means the same thing. I work on the talent acquisition team but my function is a “recruiter”. I’ve always thought TA sounds nicer. Talent partner or talent consultant is also used for recruiter job postings although those can be confused with the HRBP function. Hope that is helpful!

Same thing.

They are usually interchangeable

TA sounds sexier. Recruiter is more functional, both the same.

like

Recruiting is a function of talent acquisition- TA encompasses everything from strategy and planning to employer brand to metrics and analytics, etc.

like

It's fairly interchangeable, but you will want to differentiate yourself by your level (a recruiting Associate is very different than a recruiting Director), the level of employees you're recruiting (campus vs experienced vs executive etc), industry and competency. Are you an individual contributor or do you manage a team of recruiters? All of that will play a role more than Talent Acquisition vs. Recruiter. To be safe you should have both embedded in your LinkedIn and on your resume to get picked up by algorithms.

Essentially they’re the same role/responsibilities. Formally, recruiting is addressing immediate needs and ‘reactive’. Whereas, TA can be combo recruiting and ‘proactive’; prep for workforce planning, pipelining, etc.

I’ve always been told a recruiter is usually within a staffing agency, and TA is more internal! It just depends on the company :-)

Nope

It's the same thing. Similar to how HR can be called People Operations.

None!

I feel initially TA was inhouse and recruiter external, but with time that has changed

I work as a clinical care manager (LCSW) with an insurance company. Wondering if there is a better way of finding out salary information for other companies out there that have similar positions? I do feel that I am compensated fairly but lower than what I initially expected based on what I saw on glassdoor. I was told it’s because it’s based on cost of living where I am residing (not sure if that was legit or just an excuse).

I am a solution architect at a 50 man Salesforce consulting shop. The economy and a string of sales team members coming and going or failing to produce, has resulted in a shortage of work for our delivery team. This has affected my ability to work extra to hit my bonuses and could possibly affect my year-end raise/promotion as we are in a downturn,

Do I hold this against my company when my chances of being rewarded for my hard work are out of my control? How much leniency do you give?

HR Generalist & HRBP input needed! I’ve always been interested in HR Generalist roles as I like a variety in a role. I have been a recruitment specialist and a compensation & benefits specialist and thoroughly enjoy the different sectors. The only thing that gives me pause is the employee relations piece as I don’t think I’d be good at it. Can any generalists or business partners advise if they found that part of the role challenging when first starting?

So I came up with how much money I need to set aside each paycheck to max my 401k (including employer match). But I did not factor any year end bonus...

Question: are 401k distributions also deducted from your bonus paycheck? I'm concerned if I max out through my base salary paycheck, I'm gonna be way over once the bonus hits.

Long post, please help!!!
I applied for an internal job. They didn’t have a recruiter reach out but I spoke with the hiring manager. He told me I’m the ideal candidate but he can’t pay me. Given that it’s a job the will give me bankable experience I’m willing to move laterally. He took it to leadership and now they are thinking of combining my current role and this role for the same pay. When the offer comes in what can I negotiate outside of pay to make it worth my while? HELP!!

Data strategy question:

My Fintech organization has 2 banking products, both of which have similar features, but one caters to smaller banks and credit unions while the other focuses on the top 100 banks in the US. Does it make sense to have a common data strategy and a single data lake across this products? What are the benefits?
