If you're a man its called normal agency life
If you are a woman, this is called âHEpeatâ : for when a woman suggests an idea and it's ignored, but then a guy says same thing and everyone loves it.

Thank you for sharing!
If youâre a woman, thatâs called misogyny
Iâd say thatâs a universal term for this
I read the term âbropriatingâ are you familiar with that? Yes, I am a woman
An abropriate description*
Maybe check how assertive you are.
People arrive at the same conclusion and it comes down to who is more vocal.
Sometimes it takes someone that is more respected to say it before everyone feels confident enough to grab onto an idea.
It is not always someone taking credit for your idea. Nor is it always misogyny.
Agree, not all the times is a gender thing.
SAM above could be correct. Or your partner might be selling it better through sheer force of personality.
If a man repeats a thing that a woman just said we call it hepeating. And it is misogyny. We all talk about âgood ideas can come from anywhereâ, right? If it werenât misogyny, then the man would lead with âyeah, I agree with what she said. Itâs a good idea."
Never? Iâve seen it loads of times. Might have to make up my own word for it đ

Omg. I had not seen this. Copywriter who wrote this, you are beautiful.
It could be the way they framed it. One of the most important creative tools you can have in this job is the ability to tailor your pitch for the person youâre pitching to. Or, they just werenât listening ;).
Misogyny. No other word for it.
Itâs called âyou need to speak up'.
No. It is not women's responsibility to fix men's selective hearing problems.
Could also be they trust the other person more than they do you. Sucks. Been there. Raise your hand and speak up in a super calm but assertive manner. Or shake it off this time and if it happens again, hi with the calm/assertive/outspoken option.
Maybe the way it sounds in your head and the way it sounds to another person are different? Unless this other person is saying what you are, word for word, this just means they are a better communicator than you are

Perhaps there is a language or cultural issue here too - was an upsetting shock for me the first time I worked outside of a Western environment

I am that guy!
When speaking to clients my team often go's a little overboard with their thoughts or explanations. I have a skill for being persuasive with few words. Meaning, I'll take their 2 minute rant, once they're done (or i cut them off) and condense it into a clear 2 sentence point which the clients appreciate.
Have you tried coaching your team on how to be more succinct and direct?
Toxic is the word that comes to mind.....
Is 'they' all men?
Yes. Annoying. People who repeat the same thing you said first and get credit for it.
