Hey everyone! New to the platform. I’m in house counsel at an aerospace/AI company in CA & looking for some comprehensive, practical commercial contracts training. I’ve found a couple of useful books, but wondering if anyone in a similar position knows of any online or in person courses worthwhile. I’m one year out of law school, and a challenge of in house for me so far has been the lack of sustained and focused training in certain areas, though I know there’s no substitute for hands-on work.

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. 4th year looking to move in house. What is your typical day like in-house?

I’ve noticed that I am finding it hard to leave work “at work” and also not detaching myself emotionally from work. For example, if I send out a contract and it’s heavily marked up, I see red (no pun intended). Ill also think about it non stop until I provide my response (which is not good in am angered state. I’ve tried the standard coping mechanisms (count to 10, workout, etc.), but doesn’t help. Is this burnout? Any tips here?

I do fractional GC work, but have gotten in pretty deep with one client. I log about 100 billable hours/month with them, but because I agreed to a total fee cap, I’m really only getting about 100-120/hr. It’s every bit a full time job, and it’s really wearing me out. What’s a reasonable rate?
