Tax manager role at a fintech startup. What kind of salary should one expect? Do they typically offer equity as well? And most importantly, would this be a good exit option for someone with a compliance heavy background that does not want to be a partner at B4

Do you find companies today interview without empathy, over-valuing technical skill, pressure tests, and first impressions? A follow-up to this, if you’ve been hired by a company based on your skills, ability to perform under pressure, and first impression- did you feel you made the right decision once settled in your role? I’m analyzing the evolution of interviews and a human-centered approach.
I am currently at Deloitte GPS. I wish to stay in consulting. My goals, in order of priority, are as follows: 1. Switch to commercial projects 2. Maximize chances for MBA admissions 3. Exit opps 4. Upward trajectory (promos, etc) 5. Compensation 6. WLB I am currently trying an internal transfer to Deloitte commercial but that does not appear likely to happen in the near term. Thoughts on exiting to a FAANG L6 Strategy role or waiting until July for my impending promotion to manager? Do we think I can push the start date out to August?
I lost my last job a few weeks before Christmas last year and it took me a long while to find a new one. Ultimately I ended up moving to a new city for a job I was really excited about. However, within the first few weeks I suffered a major medical setback which led to a crippling bout of depression. I am finally starting to feel like a person again but I'm afraid the ship has sailed on my having success in my new role.

Thoughts on Indexed Universal Life Insurance as an investment vehicle? I hear the pros and cons from the sellers of this, whom I understand gain heavy commissions. But wanted to get thoughts from investors and if this isn't a good vehicle, what alternative investment vehicles do you suggest (outside of stocks, Roth, 401k, and real estate)? Looking to diversify my portfolio. I'm 43, married, income 600k combined, and we have 2 properties worth 3m and investment accounts worth ~2-3m. Thanks!
Anyone have experience with a Base + RSU only offer from AWS? The base very small, with a 2 year “cash sign on” that brings TC back up to a reasonable level. But after 2 years, your RSUs are fully vested, and TC = Base + RSUs. No additional detail is provided on the value of the RSUs… except for a “Target Total Comp”. Thoughts on this setup?
For a strategy-esque (non-PM) career trajectory in FAANG/tech, what’s the comp trajectory look like? Can one ever reach MBB partner-like comp? MBB’s pay trajectory is too good to leave, but maybe I’m being naive

Convergence & Diversity: Opportunities For Disruption In Marketing & Entertainment - join
Hi fishes, Please help me decide from the below two roles : Deloitte USI - Another resource for a very long term internal project. EY India - I would be given the responsibility of basically building up an SAP vertical from almost the scratch, along side a client facing project. Renumeration is not a concern. 6 YOE, SAP Tech Consulting
Since George Floyd's murder and the sudden Corporate America "wokeness," I (black guy) have been routinely contacted by unacquainted Partners who explicitly state something to the effect "Client X wants diversity, so we'd like you on this deal..." It really comes across as tone deaf and completely patronizing. I appreciate the efforts to diversity (albeit forced), but Partners really need to learn how to not be so supercilious in the approach. You don't have to overtly state that I'm the quota.
New EY expense policy just owned, no more Amex Plat reimbursement and mobile capped at $60 for all? WTF uncle Ernie.
