I’ve been a sdr/bdr for over 2 years in B2B saas/cyber security sales with startups and 5 years of sales experience prior. I’m looking to make the leap to AE elsewhere. Is there anyone that could guide me on best practices for this job hunt or know of any roles needing an AE.

Any advice for an experienced HR professional with SHRM-SCP? I was downsized from my last job as a VP of Admin wanted to go with Coordinator/Assistant structure. Been in HR for nearly 20 years with mostly generalist experience. Managed a function and/or people for most of that time. Senior level in my experience, but definitely not executive level. (Limited budgeting and PM experience.) Having a horrible time finding a new role! Getting a lot of interviews but no offers and getting discouraged.

Should I transition to a tech sales job? Thoughts on risk vs reward? I am 34 yo, married with a baby incoming. I work at Google Cloud in solutions engineering (I help develop quantitative business cases with sales teams for customers). My cash base + bonus is $220k (going to ignore equity). I have an MBA from the University of Chicago, not that it matters much in sales. I have always been in a consulting role but I think I can make more in sales. I have a competitive personality and I am bored.

For those working in sales with ARR, what is your commission structure/payout? I am an AE for a SaaS startup and my commission is 7%—- but it’s paid out quarterly as it accrues based on customer invoicing. I think you can do the math and understand why I ask.

What are some “typical” career paths for Account Executives other than working up towards the largest enterprise AE roles. After being in sales for 6 years, I’m relatively naive to any other than “leadership” and wonder what other options to consider are out there. I’d even be open so some not so typical ones that people have enjoyed/found success in. Thanks in advance!

Don’t assume that more likes and comments directly lead to sales. I’ve had posts with 20 likes that generated me more leads than a post with 100 likes.

Interviewed for a company today. The remuneration package $120k-$180k/year [Base + % of Commission = OTE] (50/50 spilt).

They’re asking for an expected salary, if my expected salary is $100k/year, comes out to $8.3k/month.

Based on the $180k and paymix of 50/50, that means $90k is the base salary which is lower than my expected - is this correct? If so, what should I do?
