Can you guys have a plan to move out of the in-laws? Things are starting to open up, it’s time to go back to your lives

Thank you. I think I needed to hear this. I was in so much of guilt for having such feelings for his parents. Thank you so much.

Sorry to hear you are not doing well ❤ Have you talked with your partner? Are they aware of how you feel or are being treated? In my experience, if you and your partner are not on the same page about this and they don't have your back, the problems will only get worse. Talk with your partner and let them know you want to live in your own place or what needs to change for you to be able to stay. Don't be a doormat to appease others because your mental health will only get worse.

It’s time to move out!

If covid and wfh policies made you move to his hometown, time to plan next step - whether to move to town where you guys need to be or find a separate place in the same town if that works with your work situation. Start having those conversations with your spouse and making plans with a set timeline in mind to make the change happen. That way his folks will know it’s coming and it will be good for your mental health too.

Yoqi channel on YouTube for 10-15 min every morning should help. Qigong is amazing at healing negative energy, and this is coming from a former non-believer…until I started feeling healthier, myself, and saw a young woman, who was literally strapped to a wheelchair and bent over 90 degrees from a car accident, start walking upright again and a 95 yr old woman, who could barely walk with a walker, easily glide across a room with the walker 4 months later. You have nothing to lose by trying it for a week :)

Thank you. I'll surely start this from today itself.

I wrote a rec letter for one of my legal assistants for law school right before COVID got bad and we all started working remote. Ever since then, this assistant has seemingly been slacking. There’s only so much I can actually see/review without seriously micromanaging her. I’ve spoken to her about her slacking at least twice and both times she just brushed it off. I want to withdraw my rec letter, but I feel like it’s too late. She is leaving at the end of the summer. Should I just let it be?

Long post alert. Also, confusing post alert haha. So, I'm going to be divorced in the next few months and have 2 kids who'll be with me. Ever since this situation has been finalized, I'm becoming very conscious of our spend & have been tight about it. Covid has helped. But I noticed that even my grocery store bills are pretty high...like a single run to Meijer is $125+. Costco is like $200 or so. We've always had fresh fruits, nuts liberally used in our house. Seeking immigration / travel advise. I know we are not lawyers but any experiences / stories would be helpful. Can I enter the US when I have H1B change of employer petition approved but employed with my current company and serving notice period? Which company’s I-797 form do I show immigration? Do I tell them about switching jobs, etc.? My new company lawyers are not providing clear guidance on this and suggesting against travel due to COVID in general. Thank you.

Has anyone recently requested for any IT asset from office ? Like monitor or something ? After weeks of struggle with ITS they have finally arranged one monitor for me. However, ITS is telling they are not shipping any assets and are asking me to come to office and collect. I am not very sure why they won't ship assets when we are still WFH.

This is such a basic question, but what’s the best way to give my two weeks and not have things be completely awkward at work? I’m leaving to do the same type of work, but at a firm that I worked for in law school and that I know has a much better culture. My boss has a tendency to be passive aggressive towards people that are leaving and given that my office is right next to hers I’m worried my last two weeks are going to be so uncomfortable. Suggestions/advice?
