I think the higher your current salary the higher the barrier to leave. And going from a high salary to ZERO salary is scary. At some point you just have to weigh the opportunity cost of not trying at a particular point in time. For me, I knew that if I didn’t start a company in the next 18-24 months that the inertia of leaving would only become higher and the window of time on the personal side to take crazy risks was decreasing. So I jumped! It’s a very fine line between insanity and courage. ;)
