Hi LA fish 👋

My BF and I are coming to LA for a wedding next weekend and are looking for recommendations on fun things to do / see in downtown LA, and also waterfront restaurants in Santa Monica. We are in our mid 30s and coming from Chicago. Thanks in advance for any recs!

Any LA consultants looking to become ex-consultants? Hiring for a couple roles at my incredible company/team based in LA. Company pays very well and culture is much better than anywhere I have ever worked previously (esp. pwc). DM if interested and I can provide much more info!

26M, recently got a job in Beverly Hills. Currently living in OC and enjoy snowboarding, hitting the beach sometimes during summer, and boxing. I’m also POC so I’d feel too out of place in Santa Monica. What other neighborhoods would be good for me? Walkability is a plus but ideally I’d be in a diverse neighborhood with nightlife like Highland Park and within 30-40 minutes of work in traffic.

Hi! I’m moving to LA from Chicago, base 90k - no debt. I live in a 1BD rn and have been browsing the market in LA to get an idea of rent. I’m mainly looking west of DTLA (ktown, la brea, pico rob, etc)it’s seeming like a 1BD may be out of reach. I’m not looking to pay more than $1800/mo. Any suggestions on neighborhoods I should consider? I’d like to be near grocery, restaurants, and would need parking. I enjoy being outdoors and would look to go on hikes/runs in my free time if that helps. TIA!

Hi everyone! I’m switching internally to my company’s LA office (from Boston). I only need to be in the office 1 or 2x per week and am toying around with the idea of living in San Diego and commuting up that one day. It’s likely be a 2.5hr drive or so each way, which seems like a lot. Can anyone speak to whether or not I’d go insane with that setup or if there are ways to make it more tolerable? I just have more family / friends in SD and would prefer to live there if possible :) thank you!!
