Hmm. Wouldn't you come out in about the same position post-MBA, but 2 years later and with massive debt? Can you not look to transfer within your company to get to London?unless you're applying to a well-known European MBA program, I don't know that a top American MBA will help much there. Another thing to consider is a part-time MBA if you want it for the sake of family expectations. Don't know if you're near a top school to do that. But if it were me, I wouldn't bother with the MBA if I had goals like yours and was already in the $150k salary range. I would only use the MBA as a pivot if I couldn't get to my goals otherwise (or if it was going to take more than 2-3 years).

Hopefully others will chime in too, but my general advice is to not do the MBA just for the sake of it. Have a very clear goal in mind. The first job you get after you MBA is pivotal. While a degree from a top school will continue to open doors, the shine of the degree diminishes significantly, relative to recruiting efforts after first job and 1 maybe 2 years post-graduation.

Commenting for advice. In a similar situation

Should I switch to another consulting firm to get more exposure to other industries or should I directly exit to industry, and if so, which one?
