Food diary, menstrual log, water intake log... Start tracking and you might notice something to share with your doctor.
My dad is a neurologist and I get migraines, as well. There are a TON of different treatment options so you should definitely see a neurologist. Treatments range from preventatives (e.g., birth control, topamax, Botox) to acute relief (e.g., imitrex, nurtec, etc.). All I need is something for acute relief since I only get them once a month and it’s not worth it to do a preventative, but talk to a doctor and they’ll help you figure out what makes sense for you.
Agreed wholeheartedly. I've had migraines since I was a young child and tried SO many things to prevent and treat them. Without a neurologist I wouldn't have been able to do that well. Been on topamax and atenolol for years and it's the only thing that's kept my migraines at bay.
Go to a neurologist, they are much better at managing. There are both prophylactic (preventative) options as well as acute drug options for you (like triptans) that could significantly impact your migraine frequency and intensity.
Botox is a nice thought, but only approved for chronic migraine (15+ headache days a month). Praying you aren’t one of the unlucky ones who have that, OP!
Do you still have your wisdom teeth?

I think I have 1 left? What's the correlation?
My mom has dealt with chronic migrianes pretty much her whole life, and intense stress, weird weather, or too much MSG trigger them for her. She’s been using a device called “Cefaly” everyday preventatively for months and hasn’t had one since! Highly recommend it
Ugh, I too have had migraines and one all week. Like others said, start tracking them and you will see a pattern, either with hormones, food, weather or stress. Definitely see a neurologist who can give you some meds for when they do happen. I’ve been taking an herbal supplement also which has helped me immensely in not triggering them. We feel your pain!

What type of herbal supplements?? Yea I started reading weather could be one of the reasons too! So interesting how many factors can cause it. I do get sick whenever there's a weather change. I'd always have to take extra care of myself when I see weather change drastically
Hormonal birth control did it to me. Only realized after I went off but for years did botox, was on a preventive and abortive medication. See a neurologist - you don’t need to live with them and there are a ton of treatment options.
Are they menstrual migraines?

You know. I was just reading about that. I never took notice of my pattern so I'll start keeping track of it moving forward. But I never had it before. It started happening only within the last few years. Idk if it has to do with age too. I'm in my mid 20s now.
Try Botox
I too have very scary migraines… that sometimes last for days and I can feel the build up over the first days. Like first with a knot in my shoulder, then stiff neck and then it creeps up to my head. Mine is related to stress and being quite high energy when I prefer (probably going over what my body can handle). I have found that my migraines improve so much with a proper deep tissue massage! Especially when it’s just building up. I try to stop it with a proper shoulder message. Even got a mid-range massage chair so I don’t have to depend on others. It’s worth the investment for someone that has migraines!
Im so sorry OP! When it was during a period that this pain was almost chronic for me, I just went to the message twice a week as a “preventive” measure. And it really improved for me. I hope maybe this may help you!
Are you on hormonal birth control? I used to get ocular migraines (basically the aura, but then no migraine) every month right before my period. It stopped as soon as I went off hormonal bc.

I'm not on any bc!
