I feel like the skills I have are not being utilized where I am at. I’m being micromanaged and am realizing the firm is stuck where it’s at, there isn’t a hunger to be great. There is just complacency.
I’m the project leader, the organizer, the leadership/management tips book reader, and the person who ran for leadership roles all through college and law school. I want to have a positive impact and help to improve a business/firm in some way. I don’t know where to go from here. I feel like government jobs aren’t for me and I don’t want billable hours. I have no clue what my options are.

I know you say you don’t want a government job, but if you want to transfer your PI skills, many local government offices defend PI claims. No billable hours and at least at my office, great work life balance.
Do you think it’s just the company making you miserable or the work as well? Or a combination of both? Are you looking for something entirely different or to continue doing plaintiff’s work elsewhere?

The firm is toxic for sure, but I think I need to move away from plaintiffs PI and see what else is out there.
